ATLANTA, June 7, 2012 The Atlanta Dream will celebrate their fifth season in Atlanta with a series of promotions during Friday's 7:30 p.m. game against San Antonio at Philips Arena.

The first 3,000 fans in attendance at Friday's game will be given a free Fifth Anniversary Lapel Pin. In addition, Fifth Year Anniversary tumblers will be given to those who donate a minimum of $5 to the Dream 4 Youth Foundation.

Also, testimonials from fans on why they "Run with the Dream" will be put on display at the entrance to Philips Arena, and all five-year season ticket holders will be recognized on the court at halftime of Friday's game.

The Dream have had an impact on the Atlanta sports scene since beginning play in 2008, attracting more than half a million fans in regular season games alone just four home games into the 2012 season. The team improved its record during each of its first four seasons, culminating in back-to-back Eastern Conference Championships and WNBA Finals appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Two members of the Dream will represent Team USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics, as guard/forward Angel McCoughtry will play for the women's basketball team and Dream head coach Marynell Meadors will serve as an assistant coach for the Olympic squad.

The Dream's role in the community has also made an impact, as the players make over 200 appearances in the community each year. Dream players can be found all across the metro Atlanta area, whether it's building a house with Habitat for Humanity, reading to elementary school students, visiting local hospitals or encouraging youth to get fit.

The Atlanta Dream are in their fifth season this summer at Philips Arena as part of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the world's longest-running women's professional sports league. The Dream are the defending two-time, back-to-back Eastern Conference Champion. The next home game is scheduled for June 8 at 7:30 p.m. against the San Antonio Silver Stars.
