DREAM SIGNS CENTER COURTNEY PARIS

- Former University of Oklahoma standout added to roster -

ATLANTA, June 18, 2011 The Atlanta Dream announced today the team has signed center Courtney Paris.

Paris, a 6-4 center, appeared in 33 games for the Sacramento Monarchs in 2009, averaging 4.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Most recently she was in training camp with the Los Angeles Sparks, but was waived prior to the start of the 2011 regular season.

Paris was originally selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs. She starred collegiately at the University of Oklahoma, leading the Sooners to the Final Four as a senior. At Oklahoma, Paris was a four-time All-American selection and became the only collegiate player- male or female- to record over 2,500 points and 2,000 rebounds in her career.

The roster move was made possible after the Dream temporarily suspended forward Sancho Lyttle. Lyttle will miss a total of six games to compete for Spains national team in EuroBasket Women 2011. She will be temporarily suspended for the duration of her absence and is expected to return to action for the Dream on July 9 against Chicago.

The Atlanta Dream is the defending Womens National Basketball Associations (WNBA) Eastern Conference Champion. The Dream enters its fourth season this summer as part of the WNBA, the worlds longest-running womens professional sports league. The Dream hosts five games at Philips Arena to close out the month of June: vs. Minnesota on June 19; vs. Chicago on June 21; vs. Phoenix on June 24; vs. San Antonio on June 26; and vs. New York on June 30.
