DREAM RE-SIGNS CENTER ALISON BALES

ATLANTA, April 1, 2011 The Atlanta Dream announced today the team has re-signed center Alison Bales. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Bales, a 6-7 center, was a valuable reserve for the Dream last season. She appeared in all 34 games, including three starts, and averaged 15.6 minutes per game. Bales was the teams second-leading shot blocker (1.15 bpg) and added 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Bales left her mark at Duke University, helping the Blue Devils to the national championship game as a junior. She finished her collegiate career as the schools leader in blocked shots and also set the NCAA record for most blocks in the NCAA Tournament.

The Atlanta Dream is the defending Womens National Basketball Associations (WNBA) Eastern Conference Champion. The team tips-off the 2011 season at home on June 5, versus the New York Liberty at Philips Arena.
