Dream Fit

IMG_9161_webWho: The Atlanta Dream along with partners Grady Health System, Coca-Cola, Georgia Power, Kaiser Permanente, PT Solutions, and Amerigroup.

What: 60-minute clinic that teaches children about the importance of health and wellness.

Why: Approximately 17% (or 12.7 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese. However research has shown that a minimum of 60 minutes of activity each day goes a long way in keeping children fit. The WNBA and the Atlanta Dream are dedicated to assisting in the fight against childhood obesity.

How: Utilizing 5-7 stations, the Dream staff, players, mascot, and cheerleaders give children the chance to experience various exercises and interactive nutritional lessons. Stations include but are not limited to:

Station 1: Nutrition

Station 2: Dribbling

Station 3: Passing

Station 4: Shooting

Station 5: Speed and Agility

Station 6: Core

Station 7: Cardio
